February 1, 2013According to People.com, former "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler made a surprise cameo on the show Thursday night (January 31) — dressed as a woman. "Calling himself Pepper LaBeija after the famous drag queen featured in the 1990 documentary 'Paris Is Burning', Tyler wore a blonde wig, snakeskin miniskirt and fake breasts that honked when squeezed," reads a report on the site.

Tyler announced his departure from "Idol" in July 2012 after serving as a judge for two seasons on the hit Fox program. The AEROSMITH frontman explained that he wanted to refocus on his music career.
Although he seemed to enjoy his two-year stint on "American Idol", Tyler admitted that the show was actually "not my cup of tea." He said he only signed up for the show because he was feuding with his AEROSMITH bandmates and it was "something to do while the storm blew by."
He explained to Rolling Stone, "I loved it and hated it. It was a great job, I sat next to J. Lo and I made a ton of money. It was a moment in life and it became larger than life."
However — he said he didn't like the pressure he felt to be mean to the contestants. He explained, "The show's about kids and what you do to nurture their talent. They wanted me to take the piss out of the kids and I don't have that in me. That's not what I'm about. That's more about that other guy. Not me."
